Positively Half Full

Keep your Glass Half full is my tagline, it’s my motto in life. Everyone has bad days and moments when you feel so lost. For me in my experiences even the bad ones, trying to see the glass half full has helped me cope with a lot. It’s hard but I think it’s much harder to always see the glass half empty.

I have a love affair with quotes. They are one of my favorite things to read. They are a constant source of comfort for me. To know that people live the same experiences as we still do now is amazing. I can read a quote that can instantly inspire me to be the best I can be.

I recently started a hashtag that I love. This page is hopefully where you can come and get some encouragement, some positivity for yourselves.

One of my most favorite quotes is the first one. It is for my husband.

“For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.” ~Judy Garland

Run your fingers through my soul. For once, just once, feel exactly what I feel, believe what I believe, perceive as I perceive, look, experience, examine, and for once; just once, understand.

When you kiss me, without uttering a single word, you speak to my soul.

You know that when I hate you, it is because I love you to a point of passion that unhinges my soul.
~Julie de Lespinasse

Friends will keep you sane, Love could fill your heart, A lover can warm your bed, But lonely is the soul without a mate.
~David Pratt

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
~Alexander Pope

We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.
~Sam Keen

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep… wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in track pants, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you’re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU… The one who turns to his friends and says, “thats her”….
~Harry Tottszer

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
~Howard Thurman

Remember that everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.
~H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.
~ Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. “Love is the beauty of the soul.”St Augustine

“I love you, not only for what you are, But for what I am when I am with you.”
~Roy Croft

The soul that can speak with its eyes can also kiss with a gaze.”

The Beauty of Love:
The question is asked, “Is there anything more beautiful in life than a young couple clasping hands and pure hearts in the path of marriage? Can there be anything more beautiful than young love?”
And the answer is given. “Yes, there is a more beautiful thing. It is the spectacle of an old man and an old woman finishing their journey together on that path.
Their hands are gnarled, but still clasped; their faces are seamed, but still radiant; their hearts are physically bowed and tired, but still strong with love and devotion for one another. Yes, there is a more beautiful thing than young love. Old love.”
~Unknown

“But I love your feet
only because they walked
upon the earth and upon
the wind and upon the waters,
until they found me.”
~Pablo Neruda

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” ~ Abraham Lincoln
